Discover your role with Pioneer Bible Translators
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples" John 13:35

PMI is Challenging
Pioneer Mission Institute is a week-long event designed for people of all ages to encounter God and learn more about what He is doing in the world through the ministry of Pioneer Bible Translators. PMI includes morning devotionals, classroom discussions, group worship times, field presentations, and informal mealtime and evening Q&A sessions with missionaries and staff.

There are 3 concurrent programs: Discovery, Orientation, and the Children's program.
Discovery
This is a program for those interested in learning more about PBT's ministries and where God might be leading them personally to serve.
  • Meet missionaries currently serving with PBT
  • Explore ministry roles with PBT
  • Learn about the skills necessary for successful cross-cultural mother tongue ministry
  • Gain a vision for how you might serve in God's kingdom
Orientation
This program is designed for future missionaries ready to take the next step in preparing to serve with PBT.
  • Discuss the spiritual, mental, and physical preparation and skills essential to a successful cross-cultural ministry
  • Explore what it means to serve with a team on a mission
  • Examine some of the foundational principles of our mission and their implications in our ministries
The Discovery program is a pre-requisite

PMI is Family Friendly
PBT strives to facilitate and strengthen the core family relationships of missionaries as they minister cross-culturally. Pioneer Mission Institute is designed with both families and singles in mind. Classes are offered for children from preschool through high school age with a focus on cross-cultural preparation.

PMI: Children's Programs
These are offered for age groups pre-school through high school to introduce them to the ideas and issues of cross-cultural life and ministry.
  • Discover God's heart and plan for the world and the role children have in it
  • Get acquainted with other children who have lived in a cross-cultural community, as well as those who are preparing to serve overseas with their families
  • Learn about foods, monetary systems, languages and customs of the world where PBT missionaries serve
Nursery care is available for younger children

Location and Registration
Pioneer Mission Institute 2010 will meet on the campus of the International Linguistics Center in Dallas, Texas.
