Hands-on Training
Seminar participants will learn the basic skills needed to set up a home in the bush or rural setting. They will receive hands on experience developing an electrical system to power a house using solar power and/or a generator, learn to solder, basic engine maintenance, and more.
Course Topics
- Terms and necessary equipment
- Safety habits for working with electrical current
- The differences between U.S.A. electricity and self-generated electricity
- Building a small working system to power lights and a computer
- An energy generation system for eventual use on the field
- How to select and maintain lanterns
- How to select small motor systems and the tools to maintain them
- How to select tools and maintain a working kitchen
