Hands-on Training
Seminar participants will learn the basic skills needed to set up a home in the bush or rural setting. They will receive hands on experience developing an electrical system to power a house using solar power and/or a generator, learn to solder, basic engine maintenance, and more.

  • Terms and necessary equipment
  • Safety habits for working with electrical current
  • The differences between U.S.A. electricity and self-generated electricity
  • Building a small working system to power lights and a computer
  • An energy generation system for eventual use on the field
  • How to select and maintain lanterns
  • How to select small motor systems and the tools to maintain them
  • How to select tools and maintain a working kitchen
